Overview
Used by administrators the system preferences The system settings screen ensures the client on your machine (the forms you use are stored locally on your machine) is pointing at the correct URL to connect to the system and has a number of configurationsconnects to your system
Site and Server settings
Server Tab
- Client Code is the instance you are connecting to. Normally you will be provided with a client code to use.
- Super User is only used by Developers
- I am a developer checkbox is only used by Developers
- URL is the url the forms will try to connect to Usage and is filled in by the client code
- Configuration is the default account to useMember login is a special type of login - external to your company
- Local - is a database on your machine
- Test is the test system
- Production is the production system
- Preferred site is the preferred connection
- Login user is the default login user
Production
is the production system used by your business
Test
- The test system may have new features in it so you can run tests of improvements going into the system.
- Some things may not work and new features may not be finished - this is the reason for a test system - so you can check new features or train users.
- The data in test is a copy from live. We refresh this data on a regular basis simply by copying the live database to test.
- Emails from the test system are diverted at the last possible moment to system administrators - this ensures the email system works ok and that your customers/suppliers do not get emails while people are testing
- The only way to get an email from the system directly is to use "Send test to self" from Email Templates

Devices Tab
Used to identify possible keyboards or other devices like bar code scanners that could be used for data entry that are connected to your machine - see Setting up Barcode Scanners
