Reporting of changes in sales

This reporting area provides managers the ability to review brands and customers over time.

 

Data Update

Note to update the information you need to trigger a refresh of the history tables - on Debtor Maintenance -> Roles/Profile/Children TAB -> Maintenance button -> "Start Customer Brands update" and then "Start customer brands month update"

Trends Tab

The Trends tab allows a by brand monthly comparison over a number of months and compares each month with 12 months prior.  The report can be exported to excel.

  1. Select the brand
  2. Select the year
  3. Select the Month the comparison starts
  4. Select the number of months to compare
  5. Run the report
    1. Results show
      1. Year
      2. Month
      3. units sold count
      4. dollar value sold
      5. customers total
      6. Activation = new customers
      7. Attrition = lost customers
      8. Comparison year
      9. Comparison units sold
      10. Comparison Dollar value sold
      11. Comparison Customers

Activations and Attritions Tab

This tab finds customer that have either increased purchases or decreased purchases between two compared times.

  1. Compare dates
    1. Check sales for a period of time
      1. Compare a month number (inclusive) for year for a period of months
        1. Example = to have a look at the first quarters sales of 201 = compare month 1, 2012, for 3, months to (rest will populate - to 3/2012)
    2. Compare with current time
      1. As above for a comparison period - for example above may want to compare to same quarter 12 months ago or instead the previous quarters sales
  2. Enter the percentage change you are interested in
    1. Only those customers who have at least this percentage will be in the resulting list
  3. Show
    1. Activations = customers who have increased sales by the percentage
    2. Attritions = customers who have decreased sales by the percentage
    3. Both of the above
  4. Suburb or post code or Location (uses Locations - Post Codes hierarchy)
  5. Refresh button to action...
  6. Optional Filters
    1. Select the Brand (if required) at the bottom of the screen
    2. Select the product (if required) as the item
    3. Select the Sales reps (if required) or clear for all
    4. Visit day
    5. Delivery Day
    6. Ignore customers who have not ordered for X months will exclude these from the list so only current customers are found

Totals are show at the top

  • Number of customers listed
  • Compare period total sales
  • Current period total sales

Sales Tab

Allows reporting of sales volumes between two dates showing summary information by day, week or month.

  1. Choose the Brand (bottom of the form)
  2. Choose the summary required (day, week, Month)
  3. Enter the from and to date
  4. Run report

Results

  1. Supplier
  2. Item
  3. Average cost
    1. negative adjustments will show if credits were created
  4. Total (Sales or -ve adjustments to explain row)
  5. Quantity for date involved

Colours in the report

  • Orange shows where Ordered > Delivered - ie there were short deliveries
  • Green shows where stock was sent where order date is less than 14 days
  • Red shows were both above statements were true.

Forecast Tab

Shows a forecast of sales expected for the product using the past to predict the future.

  1. Choose a supplier (bottom of the screen)
  2. Choose the number of weeks to look back
  3. Choose the number of weeks to look forward
  4. Run the report.

Results

  • Average sell rate for each day is shown for Monday to Friday
  • Stock = current stock level
  • Dates show expected stock level for each weekday until the end of the period requested

Red fields indicates when stock is expected to run out.
