Overview

Are used to organise items for purchase, sale and stocking. Note that Articles or Services General Overview can only belong to one Category. Use category hierarchies to best divide items into different groups.

Article Category Tab

Provides the hierarchy of the item categories with the ability to double click to select (and open the branch in relevant). Double click will populate the bottom of the screen and the other tabs

• Category is the name
• Parent is the parent in the hierarchy
• Articles is checked if Articles can belong to the hierarchy
• Services is checked if services can belong to the hierarchy
• Visible to the public is checked if this category is visible to the Webstore Module
• Filter by brand - enables a sub filter on the customer website by brand when the category is chosen

Items Tab

Shows all the items that belong to this category. The bottom of this screen can be used to update all the items in a particular category with a particular GL code so all the sales transactions are then associated with that code.

Competitors Tab

Allows you to track competitors for the category that you wish to use in the Sales Rep Outlet Information screen used in perishable goods

Flat List Tab

Shows all the categories as a flat list - export to excel if required
