Warehouse Module

Warehouses are Stock Locations within Host Companies where stock can be stored.  You can have as many as you like and as many levels as you like.

Defining Stock locations

Warehouses and Stock can be stored in multiple owned and 3PL warehouses with n levels as defined in Stock Locations.  Special areas (fridges, freezers, return or damaged stock etc) can be defined with limitations of stock that can be stored there.  Inventory Articles can be directed by the system to be stored in special locations (Freezer, returns location, etc)Locationss can be

  • owned by you
  • 3rd Party Logistic warehouses owned by others

You can define n levels for each Warehouse - for example general packing area, Pick face, Web Orders packing Area, Row, Rack, Bin etc..

  • Denote special areas in the warehouse for fridges, freezers, returns, damaged stock, samples etc
    • Special Areas can limit the stock that can be stored - for example to stock that requires refridgeration
    • Special Areas can be default locations for some transactions - for example returns, repairs, sample receipts, inspections etc
  • Denote a pick sequence to be used by the pick slips for the order of visiting locations.
  • Denote if an area is accessible using a forklift or not.  Locations visited by forklift can be grouped together on picks to be done together.

Tracking Stock levels

Regularly Stock Takes of different areas at different times reduces the work to continuously check stock levels.  The Low Stock Dashboard can be done in the system as a first count followed by a second count.  There are a number of ways to reduce the time taken to keep stock levels accurate

  • Each count can be done as multiple people counting in the system at the same time
  • You can use a cycle counting strategy
    • Expensive and critical to track items are counted regularly
    • General items are counted on a different frequency (perhaps every week you count a different Rack)
    • Cheaper, less critical and easy to source items are counted infrequently or only as required.

The /wiki/spaces/SI/pages/33054928 makes it easy to find stock that is low based on sell rates and expiring items in the warehouse. You

Stock can be kept up to date using Record Stock Adjustment when changes need to be made.
